Kachina

The purpose of the Kachina is to promote golf among the members of various clubs in our area.  Membership is limited to women who have an established USGA handicap (maximum course handicap of 36).  The number of players will vary for each club depending on previous year’s participation.  This year six slots have been allotted to our club.  The format is the lowest Two Net Best Balls of the Foursome.  The criteria for pairings is as follow:

#1 Use the ABCD Method.  Total handicap for each team should be within 3 strokes of the other teams, or as close as possible.

#2 Try to mix up participants so that members of the same club don’t play together.

#3 If at all possible have a member of the Host Club in the foursome.

Tournament prize money ($4 per person entry fee) will be paid out to one-third of the field.  Each club determines their entry fee.  This will be all-inclusive.  Cost of meal, tax and gratuity, prize money, bag boy tips.   There are 13 member clubs and we play seven clubs during the year.  Players will sign up a few weeks before the event at which time a check must be submitted made out to Kachina.  The designated number of players will be drawn from the list with the names of substitutes.  We hope that many players sign up and maybe we will be given more slots as time goes on during the year.  It is hoped that many players will get the opportunity to play in the Kachina.  It is a fun day.
